Title |
D. H. Day Farmhouse - Glen Haven |
Description |
B&W. large white farmhouse, near sand dunes, " The 400-acre D.H. Day farm in Glen Haven was known as 'Oswegatchie' in honor of the area in New York State where Day's father was born. The house, barn, and outbuildings were constructed over several years spanning the late 1880's to early 1890's. The farm had a variety of livestock and crops including: pigs, dairy cows, alfalfa, corn, hay, apples, cherries, and peaches. The scenic beauty and architecture of the structures have make them an iconic image of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, although they are still privately owned by an area builder."
