2016.10.1 - Liberian Freighter aground off South Manitou Island
HXP-113019 Chicago Bureau. Traverse City, Mich. - The Liberian freighter "Francisco Morazan" is sohown aground off the South Manitou Island (left). The 236-foot ship with 16 persons aboard ran aground late 11/29 in a heavy gale. The freighter is enroute from Chicago to Rotterdam, the Netherlands. It is not believed to be in immediate danger.
