The schooner Paisley had been in tow of the Amazonas and broke away. Sleeping Bear life savers put a line over the schooner and brought ashore the seven man crew. Captain Symington refused to be rescued. Later, a huge wave lifted the vessel and carried against the end of the T dock at Glen Arbor. He walked ashore dry shod. This is the cook, a man named Wiley, which has been spelled Wyley, Wylie, and Wiley. He weighed just under 300 pounds and bro...

A small booklet published by the Gunnard company, who also sold canning equipment. Filled with recipes and instructions on how to can and what not to do. Includes a recipe on the back cover to preserve a husband. The booklet was compiled by Gunnar Ahlquist, B.A. a noted canning expert. A few pages have been scanned and attached here.
